An Introduction

I feel an introduction is only necessary.

Hi.
My name is Suzanna Guadarrama- but please call my Sawna. I'm a firm hand shaker so please don't be frightened. Born and raised in Los Angeles, currently living in Hollywood. It's not so bad. There are some people that have a misperception of Los Angeles and to be honest I was one of them. Lately I have grown to love it here. I know what I'm saying may sounds a bit off but its true. The past few weeks have been quite an eye opener for me and it has truly made my love for my home much greater. I live running distance from Griffith Park, five minute drive to Runyon Canyon, my garden plot is less than a mile away, my family is only a thirty minute drive, the weather is- you know- its ok, there is a farmers market every day of the week and I'm surrounded by great friends and co-workers. What more could a girl ask for? Actually, there is quite a few things- but that's a whole other topic.

The purpose of this blog is to keep everyone informed. Not just of the progress I make in my training, but of my what's going on in my life so you could fully understand what makes me, well, ME.

Whats going on right now?
Well, for starters, I signed up for a marathon. But you already knew that.
I heard that if you do something for 20 or so days straight- it becomes a habit. Is that true? Well I'm going to roll with it. I've been vegan for over three years now and the past few months I wasn't really proud of the way I was eating. I know, I know, what I consider junk food is not really junk food but I prefer not to put so much processed foods into my system and lately, I feel, that's what I have been doing. And boy was I feeling it. On the 11th I started eating rawvegan. Well that's 15 days of eating purely raw foods as well as exercising and boy oh boy do I feel great. I have another 6 days to go before I reach my goal and I am continuously asking myself... will I stick with it? I honestly couldn't tell you.
What I can tell you is that I'll continue my exercise routine for a while. I've been hiking/running/jogging (call it what you want) both Runyon and Griffith everyday and it's quite the habit. I enjoy both for different reasons. Runyon is a bit more intense and social with its many paths to choose from. Griffith gives you trails and you make the most of it- the sounds of nature and pure visions of beauty makes your ipod look boring. Today, a little old lady stopped me as I was running down Griffith and said she saw me run up Runyon Canyon yesterday and said I was crazy running up that. Well her exact words were “I see you run up Runyon yesterday- now Griffith?!? You crazy- You run a lot!”

Maybe I am crazy.
You'll surely find out the truth.

Till next time,
Peace love and happiness.
